2 Verifiers.
Ian Williams (Nag’s Head) has been nominated by Alan Fowler for the position of Vice-Chairman, seconded by Molly Greatorex.
COMMITTEE MEETING:
Propositions;
1. Should league positions be decided by
‘games won’ rather than ‘matches won’.
2. Clarification of ruling regarding
coaching by non-players during a
match.
3. Summer League Affiliation fees should
remain at £20 per team.
4. Propositions from members (none
received)
5. AOB.
Overwhelmingly rejected
Much discussion on this one. Alas no clarification was actually discussed itself but several votes were taken on whether or not it would be OK for a non-playing player to coach juniors whilst playing games.
The vote was passed.
It has to be said that no actual rule/amendment was formulated and the rule stating that only 2 members from each team are allowed to vote was not enforced. (All seven members from one team actually voted).
This calls into question the whole validity of the outcome of the proposition!
A goodly turn-out attended the meeting with representatives from most of the clubs in the Marches.
Ian was duly elected onto the Executive Committee and Don and Avril 'volunteered' to act as verifiers.
Trophies were presented by League Team Captain Bill and the evening ended with a seven-course meal, courtesey of Les and Fiona......! (OK - 6 chips and a sausage - but very nice all the same).
Overwhelmingly passed.
